We are recruiting an exciting opportunity for a Software Engineer for one of our prestigious automotive clients in the South Oxfordshire area:

The Role:

To provide software design capabilities to the Control team and the wider group.

Responsible for the specification and development of basic software supporting ECU feature development.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Involvement, where necessary, in all aspects of the specification, development, and delivery of basic software supporting in-house developed ECU. This covers specific activities such as specification, requirement capture, design, implementation, and bench testing.

  • Duties will include:

  • Deriving software requirements from ECU feature requirements

  • Configuring Autosar modules to meet requirements or implement them either directly in C

  • Integrating handwritten C code into an Autosar framework.

  • Working closely with other members of the team as well as the hardware team to make sure the SW developed meets the feature requirements at ECU level.

  • Support ISO26262 process with traceability from requirement to implementation,

  •  Unit level and integration level testing with LDRA toolchain.

  • Support ECU testing on HIL rig

  • Individual workload planning to strict deadlines and milestones

  • You will have to be flexible to accommodate projects changes as required

  • You will also need to ensure high levels of competence in the use of development tools.

Core Skills and Experience:

  • Good engineering degree in a relevant discipline
  • Proficient with ETAS or Vector Autosar authoring tools
  • Bare metal embedded SW development in C on Arm CPU architecture preferably using Xilinx or TI processors.
  • Experience in mainstream automotive ECU software development for production following ISO26262 process.
  • Experience/understanding of test, measurement and debug techniques.
  • Proficient with debugging tools like Lauterbach Trace32.
  • Experience with LDRA toolchain


Highly desired:

  • CANape / CANoe / CANalyzer would be a distinct advantage.
