We are recruiting an exciting opportunity for a Vehicle Engineering Manager for one of our prestigious automotive clients in the Warwickshire area:

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure target balancing is aligned to attribute strategy.
  • Ensure attribute verification plan (virtual and physical) is robust and affordable.
  • Ensure prototype / mule provision supports broader requirement verification plan.
  • Ensure appropriate test facilities are identified and available to support plan.
  • Ensure any non-compliances are identified and plans to address, agreed.
  • Ensure all targets and associated test results are robustly documented and reported.
  • Ensures customer focus in attribute balancing activities.
  • Ensures vehicle led user journeys are successfully delivered.
  • Ensures design changes include appropriate validation actions.

 

MAIN TASKS

  • Support robust attribute target definition and delivery for the client.
  • Review and approve requirement validation plans.
  • Work with Concept and Studio Feasibility teams to ensure vehicle concept supports targets.
  • Support resolution of incompatibilities in attribute targets and target balancing / trade off activities.
  • Leads procurement of test facility services to deliver requirement validation plan.
  •  Works with ESPs / Suppliers to ensure successful execution of the test plan.
  • Leads procurement of test facility services to deliver requirement validation plan.
  • Leads mule and proto build activities with 3rd parties.
  • Deliver other tasks as assigned by a line manager.

 

REQUIRED SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience in a “Start up” business is desirable.
  • A solid understanding of automotive vehicle attributes is essential.
  • Experience working in one or more vehicle attributes teams / Vehicle Integration desirable.
  • Understands interactions and dependencies between attributes and has experience of the trade off process.
  • Experience with Jama or other requirements management system is desirable.
  • Experienced in vehicle attribute assessments.
  • Experience with Jama or other requirements management system is desirable.
  • Experience using Teamcenter.
  • Vismockup is desirable.

 

 SENIORITY LEVEL & INDUSTRY EXPERIENCE

Medium (6 years+)

AUTHORITIES

Decision-making authorities

  • Review and approve objective target changes not impacting vehicle level attribute targets

 

Managerial authorities    

  • Manage client approval for requirements validation plan
  • Responsibility for mule and prototype fleet​​​​​​
